Chatroom Party Help

A chat party is when everyone gets together in the chat room to play some games, answer trivia, win prizes, and just have a fun time. Chat parties run several times a year so make sure you check the newspaper for times and dates.

The Games

^NEW!LOL Giphy -- the person running the game picks a topic. Your job is to get a giphy that comes close to matching that topic without using the words in their topic. For instance, let's say the topic is "Summer Santa". It's your job now to try and get a giphy that has something summery (ie beach/sand/ocean) and Santa in the giphy that comes back but you can't use the words summer or santa when you ask for the giphy. So for instance you might try these:

Red, Green, Blue -- this game is like rock, paper, scissors. Everyone in the chat picks a color. Change your font color to either red, green, or blue and write the name of your color in the chat room. The person running the game will announce which color they picked. If your color beats the annouced color you get to keep playing, otherwise you're out. Keep playing until there's only one person left.

Red beats Green

Green beats Blue

Blue beats Red

Favoritism? -- this game is similar to the simon says. The person running the game tells you to do something specific in chat, like write your favorite color, your favorite book, etc. You only have 10 seconds to answer. If you answer the question incorrectly (ie respond with a plant name when asked for a color) you're out. If you take too long to answer, you're also out. If you answer and the question didn't have the word "favorite" in it you're out. The last person left in play wins.

4 Sure -- everyone will be asked to guess a number between 1 and 10. Then the person running the game will then roll a dice. If the number you guessed it 3 higher then the dice number, or 3 lower then the dice number you're out. If you guess the RIGHT number you get 1 free miss which will let you continue to play even if your number should be out. The last person still playing wins!

First Roll: you guess 4. The number is 6. That means you have to have a 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 as a number guess to keep playing. Since you guessed 4 you're still in the game.

Second Roll: you guess 9. The number is 3. That means you need a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in order to keep playing. You're out of the game!

New Game

First Roll: you guess 6. The number is 6. That means you have to have a 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 as a number guess to keep playing. Since you guessed 6 you're still in the game AND you get 1 free miss since you guessed the correct number.

Second Roll: you guess 9. The number is 3. That means you need a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in order to keep playing. Since you have 1 free miss you can keep playing. If you get it wrong again then you're out of the game.

Temperature -- everyone will be asked to guess a number between 1 and 500. The person running the game will pick the closest number and say either Hot, Warm or Cold. The winner is the first person to pick the correct number.

Hot: the closest number is 25 above or below the correct number.

Warm: the closest number is 50 above or below the correct number.

Cold: the closest number is 100 above or below the correct number.

Guessing Game -- this is like 20 questions. I give you a theme and clues to help you figure out what the person, place or thing is. The first person to get the correct answer wins.

Tag -- If you're it you call out someones name in the chat room to tag them. If they don't respond after a few second you can pick someone else. The last person to tag someone before time is called is the winner.

Trivia -- be the first to give the right answer to the question and you win the prize.

Word Scrambler -- unscramble the letters to figure out the word. For example

LETTERS ARE: L U A A C N S A E S T

Right: Santa Clause

Wrong: Luck Cant Last (there is no letter K, only one letter T and C, and letter E wasn't used)

Smiley Line -- you'll be given a number. Thats how many smileys are in the combination. Its your job to figure out what the right combination is. The first person to come up with the right combination wins.

If ____ Were A ___ -- you have to come up with what the person would say if they were some kind of animal or object. The best response wins.

For instance, the person running the game will say: If Santa where a Horse he's say?
